Anthony H. "Tony" Maradeo

January 8, 1931 ~ November 3, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old


Anthony H. “Tony” Maradeo, 86, of 74 East Diaz Ave., Nesquehoning PA, entered into eternal rest on Friday surrounded by his loving family.  He was the husband of Jennie (Digilio) Maradeo, and they had been married for 55 years.  Born in the New Columbus section of Nesquehoning, he was a son of the late Vincent J. and Concetta (Rizzo) Maradeo.  “Tony” was a lifelong resident of the community and worked as a Foreman in the Semi-Conductor Operation Line of the former Western Electric, later becoming AT&T and then Lucent Technologies.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran, attaining the rank of corporal while serving during the Korean Conflict. He was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in New Columbus.  “Tony’s” passion in life was music and was an accomplished accordion player, and also wrote his own songs, having copyrighted over 100 of them.  He also loved Harley Davidson Motorcyles, and was a member of the New Columbus Fire Co., the Nesquehoning VFW as a social member, the Nesquehoning Sokol Citizens Club, and the former Forester’s Club in New Columbus.

Surviving in addition to his wife Jennie are sons Vincent and wife Denise of Lehighton, Nicholas of Williamsport PA, a daughter Connie, wife of Joseph Domines of Nesquehoning, a brother Salvatore Maradeo of Bethlehem, a sister Bridget Kenney of Bethlehem, grandchildren Anthony and Timothy Maradeo, Bailee, Aeris and Gabriella Maradeo, Jennifer Domines, Jaimeson Tice-Domines, Joseph Domines and great grandchildren Alex and Blake Domines.  He was pre-deceased by brothers Frank and James Maradeo. 

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 7th at 11:00 a.m. from the Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 West Center St., Nesquehoning PA 18240, with Rev. Allen Hoffa as Officiant.  Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in the New Columbus section of Nesquehoning.  Veterans Graveside services will be conducted during the interment.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
