Nancy A. (Moskerintz) Ondo, 86, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Monday at Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehab Center in Lehighton. Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Opalenick) Moskerintz. Widow of Joseph B. Ondo, they met at Lakewood Park, married and lived in Reading and Nesquehoning. Widowed at age 32, she devoted her life to her 3 daughters. She worked at various garment factories, and also at the former Sarama Lighting, and as a crossing guard. She enjoyed reading, gardening in her yard, and baking/cooking for the church. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved God, family and her church, St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Nesquehoning. She was recently inducted in the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame and honored at a luncheon with other Hall of Fame voters in July.
Surviving are daughters Jo Anne, wife of Michael Mitzen of Jim Thorpe, Linda, wife of Stephen Kusko of Nesquehoning and Susan, wife of Anthony Moran of Sandy Creek NY. Grandchildren Joseph and Kelly (Raulli) Mitzen, Michael Jr. and Justina (Butrie) Mitzen, Amanda Kusko, Allyson Kusko, Tyler and Chelsea (Savastano) Moran, Dylan and Caitlin (Brown) Moran. Great grandchildren Ben, Julia and Noelle Mitzen, Kailey, Cameron and Makena Boger, Brooke and Cole Mitzen, and Theodore Rowan Moran. Nieces and nephews Holly Moskerintz, Barbara and Ernie Diefenderfer, Richard and Janet Bossey, David Huebner and Richard Huebner. She was pre-deceased by brothers George (“Jerry”), Michael, John, Stephen (“Chiefie”), William (“Billy Mutt”) infant brothers Charles and Wasil, and sisters Mary Bossey and Anne Duffy.
