Phyllis A. (Nalesnik) Steidle

Phyllis A. Steidle, 74, of 1324 Orchard Lane Jim Thorpe PA, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 16th at Blue Mountain Health System, Lehighton.  She was the wife of Richard C. Steidle and they had been married for 53 years.  Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel (Reis) Nalesnik. Phyllis worked in a clerical position with the PA State Police in Harrisburg, and then working later as a secretary for the former Scotty’s Fashions, and worked as a cafeteria worker for the Jim Thorpe School District.  She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Jim Thorpe where she was active in the church choir.  She also served as a Jim Thorpe Cub Scout Den Mother.  Phyllis loved gardening and was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan. 

Surviving in addition to her husband Richard are sons David J. and companion Tracey Fertally of Jim Thorpe, John M (Jack) and wife Amanda of Chicago IL, and William J. of Albany NY, a brother Joseph R. Nalesnik of Jim Thorpe, a sister Julia Kelm of Lehighton, and grandchildren Derek, Reilly and Jake.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 20th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 526 North St. Jim Thorpe, with the Rev. Francis Baransky officiating.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Online condolences can be expressed at www.nalesnikfh.com.  Service and arrangements are being provided by the Bruce A.
