Ethel G. Nalesnik, 91, formerly of Jim Thorpe, entered into eternal rest on Saturday at  The Summit at Blue Mountain Nursing and Rehab center, Lehighton, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of the late Joseph Nalesnik, who preceded her in death in 2012.  Born in Jim Thorpe, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Ponting) Reis.  She worked as a sewer in various garment factories over the years. A lifelong resident of the community, she was active with the former Jim Thorpe American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as Chaplain, and was a past-president of the former Jim Thorpe Senior Citizens, and was a longtime and devoted member of ST. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Nesquehoning. Ethel was also an avid sports fan of all the Philadelphia Sports Teams.  Surviving is a son Joseph R. of Jim Thorpe, daughters Julia Kelm of Lehighton and Phyllis, wife of Richard Steidle of Jim Thorpe, Grandsons David, Jack and William and GreatGrandchildren Derek, Reilly and Jake.  She was pre-deceased by brothers Calvin, Edward, Kenneth, Charles, William, Thomas, and sisters Jennie Hetler, Elizabeth Wehr and Margaret Schaeffer.

Parastas Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 15th, at 10:00 a.m. from the Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 West Center St., Nesquehoning PA, with the Rev. Vasyl Chepelskyy Officiating.  Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Jim Thorpe.  A calling hour will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.  Contributions may be made to ST.
