Evelyn S. Stoffa, 85, of Bloomsburg, formerly of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 14th at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville PA. Born in the Coalport section of Jim Thorpe, she was a daughter of the late George Stoffa and Anna (Saxon) Stoffa-Rimsky. She was a graduate of the former Nesquehoning High School and worked as a sewing machine operator and also in the dining service industry. She was of the Lutheran Faith and attended the former Zion Lutheran Church in Nesquehoning. Evelyn enjoyed knitting and spending time with family, and "had the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone". She will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are brothers John Rimsky and wife Rebecca of Jim Thorpe and a brother Frank of Chicago, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by brothers George Stoffa, Michael Stoffa, Edward Stoffa and sisters Mary Texeira and Irene Eddy.
Funeral Services for Evelyn will be held on Saturday, December 20th at 11:00 a.m. from the Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 West Center St., Nesquehoning PA, with the Rev. Marjorie Keiter Officiating. Interment will be at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Cemetery in Summit Hill. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Evelyn's life during a visitation at the Funeral Home from 10-11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
