James P. Garcia, 81, of 217 7th St. Weatherly PA, formerly of Bethlehem and Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Friday evening at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Frances (Matalone) Garcia, who had passed away in 2013. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Jesus and Helen (Phillips) Garcia. He worked as a crane operator at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 39 years before retiring and then moving to Nesquehoning. He was a former member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Nesquehoning. Jim enjoyed working on his cars and tinkering in his garage trying to fix anything given to him that was broken.
Surviving is a son James and wife Pat of Shoemakersville PA, a daughter Denise Garcia of Weatherly with whom he resided, a brother John and wife Betty of Freemansburg PA, sisters Janette Guidon of Freemansburg and Mary Ann, wife of Joseph Mucka of Orefield, grandchildren Jeremy, Larry, Shane, Stacey and Kelly, great grandchildren Madison and Harper and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 6th at 11:00 a.m. from the Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 West Center St., Nesquehoning with the Rev. Amy Collins officiating. Interment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in the New Columbus section of Nesquehoning. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
