Obituary

James T. Nalesnik Sr. 77, passed into eternal rest on January 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family in Allentown PA. He was the beloved son of the late Magdalen Callen and Mike Nalesnik. James is survived by his children, son Jesse Nalesnik of Palmerton, daughters Theresa “Terri” Gilbert and husband Russell of Fredericksburg VA, Tammy Kirschman and husband Doug of Allentown, a sister Denise Smolar of Tamaqua and Michael Nalesnik of Sykesville MD; his grandchildren, Brittney, Shawn, Keyon, Abby, Deliah, Tylor, Travis, Trevor, James, Jayden, and Hannah; nine great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a son James Nalesnik Jr., brothers Edward Nalesnik and Larry Nalesnik and a sister Celestine Dougherty. James spent much of his time working on cars, a skill he developed through years as an auto mechanic and a hobby he genuinely enjoyed. He was also known as an avid collector, finding interest and value in many different things. A proud U.S. Army soldier, James honorably served his country as an SP4 in Vietnam, a chapter of his life he held with deep pride and respect. One of James’s greatest joys was dressing up as Santa Claus for his grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, warmth, and love. James will be remembered for his military service, his love of cars, and the memories he shared with his family. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A memorial service for James will be held on March 22nd at 4:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate James’ life during a visitation at the Funeral Home from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
