IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet (Bruszo)
Jacobs
October 14, 1932 – March 11, 2016
Janet Jacobs, 83, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Friday March 11 in her residence with her loving daughter Kim by her side. She was the wife of the late Richard "Dick" Jacobs who preceded her in death in 2014. Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Misoda) Bruszo.
She was a graduate of the former Nesquehoning High School, Class of 1950, after which she graduated from the Allentown Business College. She then worked as a secretary at Mack Trucks and then PP&L before getting married to Richard.
She then embarked with Richard as he first served with the Air Force and then began a long career with IBM. They had to relocate many times over the years due to his job responsibilities, and Janet accompanied "Dick" many times on his business trips. During those years, Janet stayed very active, serving as a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Danbury CT Women's Club, where she helped with the remodeling of the Governor's House. Upon retiring and moving back to Nesquehoning, Janet continued to assist Dick in his support of the McAdoo Amvets Post #1 and also at the National level. She was also very active and supportive of the Franklin & Marshall Alumni and with college fundraising, helping Dick, a 1955 graduate, with those endeavors. They also traveled back to Slovakia, Janet's ancestral homeland to visit relatives. She was of the catholic faith and was a member of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Tamaqua. Janet also enjoyed golfing, bowling and skiing for many years.
Surviving is a daughter Kim Jacobs of Boyd's MD, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a daughter Karen, a brother John Bruszo, and sisters Margaret Leonardis, Helen Torretta and Dorothy Weiser.
