Marian Kerestes, 77, of 215 West Bertsch St., Lansford PA, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 5th at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. She was the widow of Michael J. Kerestes. Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Valentine and Mary (Sniscak) Kovach. She last worked at the former My Place Restaurant in Lansford, making many friends over the years. She was a lifelong member of the former St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, now known as St. Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church in Lansford. Marian was a former member of the church choir and was very devoted to her church. Surviving is a son Rev. Michael Kerestes of St. Gregory of Nyssa in Beltsville MD, a brother Leonard Kovak of Lykens PA, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother Frank and sisters Helen Pastir and Dorothy Treskot. Marian also loved her pets over the years, especially "patches".
Parastas Services will be held on Thursday, June 11th at 9:45 a.m. at the Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 West Center St., Nesquehoning PA, with the Rev. Michael Kerestes leading the Parastas Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church, 124 East Abbott St., Lansford PA 18232, with the Rev. Thomas Derzack Officiating. Interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Summit Hill. A calling hour will be held on Thursday morning at the Funeral Home from 8:30-9:45 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.nalesnikfh.com.
