Marion M. Tyahla, 84, of the Hometown Nursing Center, Hometown PA, formerly of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 07, at the Hometown Nursing Center. She was the widow of the late John J. Tyahla, who had died in 1998. Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary (Shimko) Macaluso. She worked as a seamstress for many years in the garment industry, including many years at the former Kai-Jai Pants Co. in Nesquehoning. She was a member of ST. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Nesquehoning, where she was active in all church functions over the years. Marion was am active volunteer in many groups over the years, including the New Columbus Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the Nesquehoning VFW. She was also an election worker for many years. Surviving is a son John and wife Patricia of Summit Hill, daughters Jonile Miller of Lebanon, PA, Luanne, wife of David Chickilly of New Ringgold, Maureen Tyahla, wife of John Davis of ST. Petersburg FL, a brother James Macaluso of ST. Augustine FL, a sister Barbara Kusko of Summit Hill, grandchildren Christopher and wife Donna Kruslicky, Lisa Chickilly and Kevin Miller, and great-grandchildren Chloe and Valerie Kruslicky.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday December 12, at 10:00 a.m. with a Divine Liturgy at ST. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 141 West High St., Nesquehoning PA with the Rev. Vasyl Chepelskyy Officiating. Calling hours and interment will be private.
