Paul Scasny, 98, of 114 East Diaz Ave., Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Geriatric Center in Coaldale PA.  He was the husband of the late Emily (Pecha) Scasny, his bride of 64 years and lifetime best friend with whom he traveled the world over. Born in the former Little Italy section of Nesquehoning, he was a son of the late Martin and Anna (Hornyak) Scasny.  He graduated with honors from the former Nesquehoning High School and was a Distinguished Graduate after completing his major in Engineering and Operations from Colorado State University, Fort Collins CO.  He also graduated with a superior rating from Radar and Radio school, Headquarters, San Diego Air Defense Wing, San Diego CA.

He was a charter member of St Mark Lutheran Church, Pemberton NJ, and a current member of St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church in Lansford.  Paul was a lifetime member of Square and Compass Lodge #3, F&A Masons in Kunitachi, Japan.  He was an over 52 year member of the Lehigh Consistory, 32nd  Degree Mason, Allentown PA and a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeants Association in Temple Hill, MD.  He served in the United States Army, the United States Army Air Force and the United States Air Force in peace and in wars from September 1936 to October 1971, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant.

Surviving is a host of family and friends; he loved them all and declines naming them lest he miss several.  He was preceded in death by his brother John Scasny and a sister Betty Usilton

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 20 at 10:30 a.m. from the Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home 57 West Center St., Nesquehoning, with further services conducted at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church, 1 East Abbott St, Lansford at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Marjorie Keiter Officiating.  Interment will be at Sky-View Memorial Park in Hometown PA.  A calling hour will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home.  Masonic Services will be held during the calling hour at the Funeral Home on Saturday morning.  Veterans Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday Morning by the Nesquehoning U.V.O.  Military Graveside Services will be held at Sky-View with Military Honors provided by the United States Air Force and the Nesquehoning U.V.O.  Contributions may be made to St. John's Slovak Luther Church c/o the Funeral Home.  Services and arrangements are being provided by the Bruce A.
