Sarah G. Dominic R.N., 98, of Allentown, formerly of Lansford, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 28th in Allentown.  Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Pompey and Lena (Marotta) Vannicola.  After graduating from Lansford High School, she attended and graduated from the Palmerton Hospital School of Nursing.  She then entered the U. S. Army as an Army Nurse and served in Korea and Japan during the Korean War and was discharged as a First Lieutenant.  She then worked for many years for Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital in Lehighton prior to retiring.  Sarah loved to sew and was an avid reader; she enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and spending time with her grandsons, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are daughters Gloria A. Dominic of Lansford, Marion J. Filipos of Allentown, Elizabeth C. Dominic of Sarasota FL, and grandsons Constantine and Lucas Filipos.  She was predeceased by a brother Pompey "Sonny" Vannicola (MIA/KIA Korea), and sisters Mary D'Amelio, Betty Lindenmoyer and Lillian Nalesnik.
