Stephen W. Yurick, 86, of 16 White Pine Lane, Lehighton, formerly a longtime resident of Lansford, entered into eternal rest on Saturday at Blue Mountain Health System, Lehighton. He was the husband of Mary A. (McHugh) Yurick, and they had been married for 60 years. Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late Stephen and Suzanne (Hoshko) Yurick. He was a co-owner of the former Mity-Fine Bakery, a long-running and well-known business in Lansford, he worked there first for his father and then was a co-owner, having worked at the Mity-Fine for over 50 years before retiring and then moving to Lehighton. Stephen was an Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War, and was a longtime member of the Lansford Amvets. He was of the Roman Catholic Faith and was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church in Lehighton. Surviving in addition to his wife Mary is a son William J. at home, a daughter Claire, wife of Joe Sieck of Auburn PA, a sister Patricia Williams of Weatherly and Lake Hauto in Nesquehoning, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother Lawrence and a sister Suzanne King.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 25th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, 260 North Third St. Lehighton PA, with the Rev. Michael E. Ahrensfield Officiating. Interment will be held at SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lehighton. Calling hours will be private.
