Obituary

Vito K. "Viti" Focht, born on December 19, 1963, in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, surrounded by his beloved family. Viti's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication as a heavy equipment operator, a vocation he pursued across various companies throughout the years.

To know Viti was to love him; he had a remarkable ability to touch the hearts of everyone he met. His gentle spirit and warm demeanor have left an indelible mark on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be profoundly missed.

A man of many passions, Viti was a member of the Nesquehoning Conservation Club, where he engaged in his love for hunting and fishing. These hobbies reflected the zest for life that he carried with him, always eager to share the beauty of nature with others.

Viti leaves behind his devoted wife, Linda (Lutz) Focht, who stood by his side through life's many seasons. His legacy continues through his son Mark Focht of Beaver Meadows and his stepson Timothy Opolsky of Nesquehoning. He was a proud father to his daughters, Tia Focht and Kaela Cusanelli, and a loving grandfather to his granddaughter, Ezra C. Focht. He is also survived by his brother David Digilio and wife Debra of Whitehall, as well as his sisters Bonita Damiano and husband Anthony of Hometown and Ann Steinmetz and husband Paul of Lehighton. Viti was also surrounded by numerous nieces nephews and cousins, all of whom will carry beautiful memories of him in their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his father, Russel G. Focht, his mother, Marie (Digilio) Focht, and his brother, Russell Focht Jr. Their memories will surely join with his spirit, echoing the love and laughter shared within their family.

Vito’s life will be celebrated with a Mass held at The Shrine of St. Therese of Lisieux in Nesquehoning on January 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM, with services concluding at 1:00 PM. As we gather to honor this incredible man, let us reflect on the joy he brought into our lives and the love that will forever linger in his absence.
