Anthony J. “Bronco” Mele, 82, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 20th at Maple Shade Meadows Assisted Living Facility in Nesquehoning. He was the husband of the late Louise P. (Sniscak) Mele, who passed away in December 2021. Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Louis and Lillian (Santore) Mele. He worked as a Strip Mining Pit Foreman for the former Fauzio Brothers Co., and then the former Bethlehem Mines, and finished his working career at Ametek Inc. in Nesquehoning. He was a proud veteran, having served as an MP (Military Police) in the U. S. Army. He was of the Roman Catholic faith, and was a member of the former St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Nesquehoning, and was a former member of the New Columbus Fire Co. “Bronco” enjoyed woodworking in his garage, model making, and traveling with Louise. He will be missed by all.
Surviving is a sister Kathryn Mele of Nesquehoning, granddaughters Nicole Gill, Samantha Lahue and husband Alexander, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter LouAnn Gill, brothers Michael, Angelo, Louis Jr., and sisters Lucy Mele and Anna Mae Mele.
