Beatrice M. (Skrabak) Nester

Beatrice M. Nester, 76, formerly of Nesquehoning and Lansford, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 27th at Seton Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Orwigsburg PA.  She was the wife of the late Peter L. Nester, who died in 2011.  Born in Lansford, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Blazek) Skrabak.  She lived married adult life in Nesquehoning with her husband Peter, raising their three daughters.  She then lived in Lansford following her husband’s death.  Beatrice was a member of ST. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Nesquehoning, where she had served as a religious instruction volunteer for the youth of the church.  She was also a VFW Social Member, a Meals-on-Wheels volunteer and was in the PV Band Boosters while her children attended Panther Valley.

Surviving are daughters Donna Sweeney and husband Thomas of Harrisburg PA, Kathy Holland and former husband Norman Holland of Salisbury MD, and Paula Nester and partner Sherri Heaton of McKees Rocks PA. Brother Joseph Skrabak and wife Kathy of Spokane WA, sisters Agnes Midas and husband Mike of Newnan GA and Dolores Risteter of Lansford, Grandchildren Miranda Ahner and husband Lonnie, Devon Holland and fiancé Michaelyn Ruggiero and great grandsons Carson and Owen.  She was predeceased by a brother Robert Skrabak and a sister Ann Blasko. 

A public calling hour will be held on Wednesday, June 2nd from 10:00-11:00 a.m. from the Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 West Center St., Nesquehoning PA 18240, followed by a private  Funeral Service and Interment.  Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, c/o the Funeral Home.  Please be reminded that if you are unvaccinated, masks are requested, and if you are fully vaccinated, masks are at your discretion.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.nalesnikfh.com.  Services and arrangements are being provided by the   Bruce A.
