George L. Hosier

George L. Hosier, 82, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 4th at ST. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem PA.  He was the husband of the late Nancy (Shelley) Hosier, who passed away in 2011.  Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late George and Ida (Arner) Hosier.  He worked as a concrete mason for H & E Contractors and Sterling Homes.  George enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, (especially in Canada), bowling, watching western movies and game shows.  He was of the Lutheran faith and will be sorely missed.

Surviving is a son Robert Hosier of Lake City FL, daughters Sheryl Solomon and husband Edward of Halifax PA, Connie Mertz and husband David Welsh of Lansford, Doris Parker of TX,  Stepdaughters Dina Bellisfield of Billings, MT and Louise Williams and husband Bob of Palmerton, brothers Thomas Smith and wife Ginny of Bowmanstown,  Nevin Smith Jr. of Palmerton, sisters Barbara Smith Hunsicker of Lehighton, Carol Smith Hunsicker of Jim Thorpe, 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.  He was pre-deceased by a son George P. Hosier, brothers Arnold Hosier and Gerald Smith, and sisters Bessie Hosier Andrews and Mary Smith Ondush.

Funeral services for George will be held on Thursday, November 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 West Center St., Nesquehoning PA with the Rev. Marjorie Keiter officiating.  Interment will be private.  A calling hour will be held on Thursday morning from 10-11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.nalesnikfh.com.  Services and arrangements have been placed in the care of the Bruce A.
