Walter T. Whitehead, 56, of Tamaqua, formerly of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 10th at St. Luke’s Miner’s Memorial Hospital in Coaldale PA. Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Edward “Pal” Whitehead and Diane (Gillespie) Whitehead. He was self-employed as a General Contractor and was owner-operator of S&W Home Improvement. Walter was a member of the Sokol Citizens Club in Nesquehoning and was a member of Meed’s Memorial United Methodist Church, also of Nesquehoning. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, pool and Nascar. He will be sorely missed.
Surviving is a son Timothy Whitehead and wife Courtney of Milan PA, daughters Jennifer Whitehead and companion Nathan Nelson of Tamaqua, Mande Whitehead and companion Dominic Giles of Coopersburg, and Katie Villafane and husband Wayne of Tamaqua, brothers Edward Whitehead and wife Cindy of Lehighton and Wayne Whitehead of Coaldale, sisters Diane Schnell and husband Glen of Bowmanstown , Sherry Whitehead and companion Todd Schaffer of Slatington, grandchildren Madison, Meah, Tyler, Leah, Hadley, Sawyer, Jordan and a great granddaughter Ellianna.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 14th at 12:00 p.m. from the Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 West Center St., Nesquehoning PA 18240, with the Rev. Michael Netznik Officiating. A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society c/o the Funeral Home.
